ReplyDeleteHere in Spain we have different days to celebrate Women's Day (today) and the Mothers' Day (always the first Sunday in May).

My Best wishes to all women and girls from all over Europe especially to those participating in our project. Dana is right. This celebration dedicated to all women is still popular within all countries under Soviet regime. But we still celebrate the holiday. e.g. all men buy flowers and give them to women on that day.

Also in Italy we have different days to celebrate Women's Day (8th of March) and Mothers' Day (the third Sunday in May). But yesterday was also the last day of Carnival (shrove Tuesday or in Italian "martedì grasso") and in Trieste there were parades and festivals in several district of the city up to late in the night.
